WALKING TOURS

Vino Tours and more organises authorised guiding services mainly in the Helsinki area and Suomenlinna sea fortress. The guide and owner of the company is Maddalena Benedetti, who has been working in the tourism field for over 10 years and who is deeply in love with her hometown. Maddalena will take you to a wonderful journey, telling you interesting things about the sights, the Finnish culture and lifestyle, the architecture, the design and the history of the city of Helsinki. Her excursions are always energetic, fun and more ”spend a day with a true local”-like.

Experience Helsinki trough Finnish food

The tour will take us trough the market square, where we will taste typical Finnish berries in form of jam. In the market hall, we will have a small taste of a few more Finnish delicacies, like reindeer meet and ”leipäjuusto”, the typical squeeky cheese. We will then pass the old market quarter and hear strories about the old restaurants, coffee places and alcohol smugglers of the 18th and 19th century. At the Sentae’s square we will talk about the different phases of the Finnish history in Helsinki and take a look at the centre of the young capital of Finland in the 19th century.

On our way back to the market square, we will see the ice breakers now on holiday, the Uspenski cathedral, and the Presidential palace and will then take the ferry to the Suomenlinna islands. As arrived on the islands, we will visit a typical Finnish restaurant, built inside of an old Russian barrack, where we will taste some more Finnish delicacies and before returning back to the mainland, we will take a little walk on the islands. If you prefer to continue the day exploring  the island, we can end the tour here.
